ESTIMATES PASSED

GOOD PROGRESS MADE (P.R.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 27. The estimates of the Legislative Department, which provided an opportunity for a wide discussion, were passed by the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon and. two hours remained for the consideration of the votes of other departments. Good progress was made, votes totalling £2 557,876 being adopted before the House adjourned at 5.30 p.m. The estimates approved were the Legislative Department £140,337, the Prime Minister's Department £144,295, External Affairs Department £591,063, Audit Department £110.514, Public Service Commission £66,275, Island Territories £585,281. Electoral Department £33,805, and the Police Department £1.026,634.
