FIRE IN HOSPITAL

ALL PATIENTS REMOVED BLAZE SOON EXTINGUISHED (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 26 All patients were moved when the Kaiapoi Hospital caught fire yesterday afternoon. The fire started in the drying room and set fire to the roof but the quick arrival of the Kaiapoi Volunteer Fire Brigade limited the damage and the fire was soon under control. As soon as it was realised that the hospital was in danger the six patients were moved to a house opposite without mishap. They were returned to the hospital later this afternoon. The damage to the hospital was Confined to the back of tiie building. The fire started near a stove in the drying room.
