WORK IN TANGANYIKA <P-A ) AUCKLAND, Sept. G. The Bishop of Central Tanganyika, the Rt. Rev. W. Wynn Jones, arrived by Tasman Empire Airways flying-boat yesterday from Sydney to spend a month in New Zealand discussing the work of his diocese which is of particular interest to Australia and New Zealand, he sated, because it is staffed chiefly from the two countries. Formerly in German East Africa, he said, the diocese had grown considerably since its inception 20 years ago. There were once only two ordained Africans and now there were 30. With the close co-operation of the British Government. medical services and educational institutions had been established.
