WELLINGTON-CANTERBURY (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 6. • The semi-finals of the New Zealand women’s hockey tournament were played yesterday afternoon iri a biting north-westerly and resulted in Wellington A and Canterbury A reaching the final, which will be played this afternoon.

Canterbury A had a hard tussle in beating Rangitikei, and it was not until the scoring of their second goal in the last spell that Canterbury clinched the match. Although Wellington A beat Canterbury B by the only goal of the match the game territorially was Wellington’s ail through. Results: — Semi-finals.—Wellington A 1 d. Canterbury B 0; Canterbury A 2 d. Rangitikei 0.
