Seafield Hack, Master Day, 9.5, was unplaced in liis only two starts last term, while the season befora he won twice. Distinction, 8.5, won a juvenile race last season, but did not come up to early expectations. This Foxbridge gelding is still tho hope of his owner. Idle Along, 8.6, goes fast and is not without a show. Royal Moutoa, 8.5, won a maiden division at Foxton the other day and is held in high regard. Morotai, 8.4, is not coming up to expectations and lias proved expensive to her followers. Fine Flavour, 8.3, was subject to an enquiry after liis running on tho first day at New Plymouth. Dunkeroor, 8.1, was one of the disappointments at New Plymouth both days. Revivre. S.O, would only need to reproduce his Hastings hack form to be very hard, hut will ho be? Saturday that lie still lias a “kick” left in him, but admittedly tho field was poor. Flakuluk, 9.10, won last Saturday solidly at the finish so that the extra furlong now should be in his favour. Spiro, 9.10, won the open hurdles at Wnngunui last spring so ho can handle this shifty track. Griffin, 9.5, is also engaged in the hack race later. At present lie lacks hurdle experience, but is promising. General Lytup, 9.5, having his first hurdle rare at New Plymouth last Saturday, was sixth. He might improve. St. Nat, 9.1. has just a rough show. General Salevc, 9.1, will need to improve to be in a place. The three minimum weighted, Te Kuril, Denny’s Gift, and Imperial Crown, are not exactly dunces. Maiden Race. FIRST DIVISION. Bouton cl*Or (4), 8.5, lias l>een second in his last three efforts. Is it his turn now* Hoariri Bay (13), 8.5, is not "really fancied. Dnunornc (5), 8.5, has no form. LORD THEIO (3), 8.3, is not fancied over the distance. „ YANDRA (10), 8.1, won the Connolly Handicap on this track in tho winter and ran well enough at Now Plymouth to suggest him being at least a place bet. BLANKET (7), 8.0, is not a strong rocommendation, but is a possibility. DARK MORNING (17). 7.13. won his first open race a week back; is only a plodder at the best hacked division. SECOND SEAL (2), 7.11. failed to weighin once last season so is handicapped abovo form.

SPARKLING LADY (11), 7.10, a free goer and a good beginner, should be suited to the turning Wanganui track. ALRIGHT (18), 7.9, may be in need of another race. HULABALOO (14), 7.8, was a little unlucky in the running last week when chasing home Dark Morning. MONEHU PARK (15), 7.4, despite recent form, is not lightly passed over, recommendation. SILVER ROD (4), 7.4, is not a confident TOP SHOT (10). 7.4, left Hastings possessing a lightweight chance. ROYAL DUCE (12), 7.4, on form does not appeal. SILVER PAL (5), 7.4, is not fancied. VONETTE (6). and CASILDA (9), 7.4. make up the field and on a course like Wanganui the former, the better beginner, is preferred. Durie Hack Handicap. FIRST DIVISION Amuri, 9.0, in his form of Saturday last, is not strongly fancied. Kia Ora Katoa, 8.11, also figures in the Avondale acceptance; is a form horse. Bian Rouge, 8.8, won so. impressively at New Plymouth twice that she looks

like being the favourite. Regal Gem. 8.3, backed and beaten at Foxton (but drew 'vide out), may make amends now. Faultina, 8.2. finished close up behind the placed horses last Saturday. Moreton Bay. 8.0, Don Tara, 7.9, were both in minor places and appear to be the pick of the remainder. SECOND DIVISION

Sweet Nympli, 8.9, looks like being at a short price so high are its chances assessed. Ratcne, 8.8, second at New Plymouth, looks to possess a place chance. General Victory, 8.3, goes fast, but may not be forward enough to run out this distance just yet. Sparkling Scholar, 8.2, won a minor juvenile event last term. Putiki Hack Handicap.

Night Charm, 8.11, in this class musl he included among the possibilities. Balin* tore, 8.8, although only a bracelet winner, lias the right condition. Mr. Pym, 8.7, was in money a few days back, but is not consistent. Matawene, 8.4, was the win favourite at Foxton, but was never in the call. Te Ranui, 8.4, a big surprise winner last Saturday, and in that form must lie in a final summing-up. Even Light, 8.2. might surprise on last winters’ form. Middoon, 8.1, looks to have a rough show. Gay Stock, 7.11. third to Kahuruponga and Incision at Awapuni in July, looks the most likely of the others. Flying Handicap. BATTLE SURVEY (0) 8.9. curries the same weight as lie succeded with last Saturday so mus.t he very hard again. DRAMBUIE (10) 8.8, on her first day’s form at New Plymouth would be in the final line. OPULENT (4) 8.7. can be relied upon to run a great race and is fit for the fray. PLAYTOS (2) 8.4, had a fairly extensive winter programme so possibly has lost the edge oft' his keenness. ALDERMAN (5) 8.3, ort recent form does not appeal. SAKUNTALA (12) 8.1, a good mare, but the Oaks winner may find the distance too short. LADY CHRISTINE (13) 8.0, last season’s leading two-year-old stake-winner, is an interesting acceptor and her form will be closely watched. CARMELITA (1) 7.11, sixth at Foxton is included among the possibilities.* ROSSWCOD (8) 7.10, is not liked. SINGING HILLS (9) is an outsider. DELINQUENT (11) 7.9, on his s.-cr.nd to Battle Survey will be at no fancy odds. MANGURAKAU (15) 7.7, third at New Plymouth, might upset calculations now. CZARINA (7) 7.7, looks to be out of her class here. MARILYN (14) 7.7, did noi race p-o----minently enough last week to entice support n °TUDOR CHIEF (3) 7.7. goes fast when in the mood; will be bracketed with Delinquent.
