COMPTON’S 16TH CENTURY LONDON, Sept. 2. Dennis Compton, of Middlesex, who made 139 against Lancashire, has now equalled J. B. Hobbs’ record of 10 centuries for the season. Lon Hutton’s 270 not out for Yorkshire was the season's highest individual score and heat W. J. Edrich's 267 not out against Northants in July.
