POLITICAL AGREEMENT LABOUR AND COMMUNISTS WELLINGTON L.R.C. REPLY (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 4. Proposals from the Communist Party for an electoral agreement with Labour in the campaign for the municipal elections in November were rejected by the Wellington Labour Representation Committee at a meeting last night. The proposals of the Communist Parlv were that the two organisations should reach an agreement about candidates or, alternatively, that Labour should limit its ticket to 13 for the City Council and 11 for the Hospital Board, thus leaving two seats uncontested for which the Communist Party would put forward candidates. The acting-secretary of the Labour Representation Committee. Mr. F. C. Allerby, said last night that the committee after receiving the Communist Party’s letter unanimously adopted a resolution firmly refusing to co-operate with the Communists in any way, and declaring that the full Labour ticket would be run for all the local bodies involved.
