HOME TOWN MAN’S GIFT
BULLOCKS FOR PLYMOUTH (10.30 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 3. The news that 20 New Zealand bullocks presented by the Ply-mouth-born, Mr. F. W. Burley, of Hamilton, New Zealand, are on the way to Plymouth, caused a surprise in that city. The meat will be distributed among local and needy families of Plymouth. The Lord Mayor’s secretary said: “This is news to us. We received in January a letter from the secretary of the famine emergency committee in Hamilton saying that 30 food parcels were being sent on behalf of Mr. Burley. The parcels arrived in batches. We wrote thanking Mr. Burley. We have since received another 30 parcels.”
