WORK ON SATURDAYS (10 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 24. The British miners had offered to work 01 hours every Saturday from September until May, 1948. because of their anxiety to help the Government in the crisis, said the general secretary of the Mine Workers’ Union. Mr. Arthur Horner. They were giving up, after three months, a reform for which they had striven for 40 years. “At least 90 per cent of the miners are working loyally and regularly, but there are 10 per cent of irresponsibles in our midst,” he said- "We cannot allow the minority to defeat our aims ns workers to save our country in this terrible crisis.”
