JAPANESEJT EXTILES HUGE STOCKS OFFERING ENTRY OF ALLIED TRADERS NEW YORK, Aug. 12, When private traders enter Japan on Friday for the first time since prewar days, they will find 26,000,000 yards of silk fabrics, 3,000,000 yards of rayon, and 1,000,000 yards of woollen goods, says the New York trading paper Daily News Record. In addition, all types of men’s, women’s and children’s finished apparel will be produced on specification. Miscellaneous goods, such as pins, needles and men’s leather goods, are ready for export. It is understood that September has been fixed as the date when American business men can enter into actual contracts of purchase and sale. All external trade will be under strict supervision by General MacArthur. who will determine the types and amounts of exports and imports along the lines of political and economic policies already laid down by and subject to the approval of the Far Eastern Commission and Inter-Allied Trade Board.
