A PUBLIC MEETING will be held in the Borough Council Chambers on TUESDAY, AUGUST 19th, at 8 p.m., for the purpose of sponsoring Local Candidates in the quest for MISS NEW ZEALAND. Representatives of Women's Organisations, Sports Bodies, Trade Unions, Maori People, Returned Services, and any other interested Organisation are specially invited to attend. The winner of the Miss New Zealand Campaign will be awarded a trip to Britain and back: a cheque for £250 for personal expenses, a complete wardrobe, a screen test at a British Film Studio, and a trophy.
