1492 TROOPS RETURNING
DUNERA LEAVES JAPAN KURE, Aug. 8. The troopship Dunera sailed from Kure at dawn yesterday morning with 1492 New Zealand troops who are returning after service with the 8.C.0.F. in Japan. She is expected to reach New Zealand on August 27. Among the passengers arc Colonel D. T. Maxwell, who has been officer commanding the 8.C.0.F. sub-area in Tokyo for the past 13 months, and
Matron McKay, who came up in the Dunera and paid a brief vsit to the New Zealand hospital at Kivva. The Commander-in-Chief of the 8.C.0.F.. Lieutenant-General H. C. H. Robertson, visited the ship on_ Wednesday evening and in a brief address thanked the troops for what they had done in Japan.
