MATAV/KERO YARDS SMALL ATTENDANCE Warnings of possible flooding of lowlying pans of the flats probably more loan tne bleak and unpleasant weather limited tile attendance at the weekly Matawhero stock sale yesterday to a few personaliiies seldom absent from the yards. Buyers were almost outnumbered by stock agents. The trend of the sale on account of the small attendance was a little depressing and many of the vendors decided to hold rather than sacrifice their stock at the false rates on the day. , . Tile beef section was poorly supported. the entry consisting of six light P.A. cows and they were passed in to the highest bidder at the figure of £G 16s. No pigs came forward. Prime sheep of fair quality came forward and butchers competed freely on some pens. Ewes sold at from 25s to 28s 6d, those making the top price being heavy sorts with strong mouths. Wethers ranged from 33s 6d to 35s 4d and others were passed in at 30s Gd and 32s lUd. There was no sale for a pen of lambs at 27s Dd. In the store section competition was again keen for selected pens of breeding ewes, but the sale slowed down alter the requirements of the few buyers had been filled. Prices were:
