9000 SHEEP; 300 CATTLE (P.A) WELLINGTON. July 4

While the fall position would not be disclosed until flood waters had receded from all farms, a preliminary estimate of stock losses in the Wairarapa would be about 9000 sheep and 300 head of cattle, said the assistant Director General of Agriculture, Mr. R. B. Tennent last night. Mr. Tennent visited the district yesterday to assist in the setting up of a committee to help settlers.
