WELLINGTON WOOL LAST SALE OF SEASON UNUSUALLY BIG OFFERING (P.A.) WELLINGTON, June 21. The sixth and final wool sale for the 194 G-47 season which commenced last evening finished today. There was a total offering of 31,180 bales consisting of 29,506 bales of greasy and 1614, bales of slipe and scoured. According to the official report of the sale this was an unusually large offering for an end-of-season sale. The offering consisted of late-shorn clips from the Wairarapa and Manawatu districts and a fair proportion of Nelson and Blenheim wools. As is usual later in the season a large proportion of the offering showed weather stain and a tendency to cottiness. Buying strength was fully represented, but competition was rather restricted and prices at times were erratic. Fine quality fleece wools and well-prepared crossbred sold firm on recent sales, but faulty crossbreds of which there was a larger proportion than usual were rather neglected. Lambs’ wool and skirtings, which up to date have been in very keen tie-, mand, receded sharply compared with earlier sales held in this centre. Owing to shipping difficulties the ‘ prompt date" for the sale was extended to July 30. The following is the official range of prices: .
