Nelson Rail Link
A public meeting is to be held in Nelson to discuss with the Minister of Works and Railways, Mr. R. Semple, and the Minister of Rehabilitation, Mr. C. F. Skinner, the completion of the Neison-West Coast railway. Great enthusiasm for the project has been created, and much support has been given in other centres, as the filling of the 51-mile gap in the South Island’s 700-mile trunk railway system and the bringing of the coal areas within reach of the North Island is looked upon by its supporters as a national project. Mr. Semple and Mr. Skinner have promised to visit Nelson.
