B. & P. CLUB
The activities of the past year were reviewed with satisfaction at the annual meeting of the Gisborne Business and Professional Women’s Club, presided over by Mrs. P. L. Garbett, and held in the Bon Accord last Monday. Miss L. Hansen, secretary, was complimented on her excellent presentation of the report and balance sheet. When Mrs. Hugh Jones resigned the presidency, members expressed regret, and recorded their appreciation of her enthusiastic efforts on the club's behalf since its inception. It was unanimously declared that she be made patron and a life member. The election of officers resulted: President, Mrs. F. Bowie; vice-presi-dents. Mesdames P. L. Garbett, E. Phillips and M. Richards; 'secretary, Miss L. Hansen; treasurer, Miss I. Juices; committee, Mrs. E. Franks, Misses B. Beilis, M. Curtis, P. Hope and K. Salter. Discussion took place on plans for the coming year, which promised to be as interesting as the past, and acceptance of new members was agreed upon.
