MR. CHAMBERLAIN RETIRES (Herald Correspondent. 1 At the annual meeting of the Wairoa R.S.A. r.ir J. Hodgson was elected president, vice Mr. C. V. Chamberlain, who retired after occupying the chair [or a number of years. Tribute was paid by several members to the untiring work of Mr. Chamberlain over a very long period and he was unanimously elected patron. Opportunity was taken to present Mr L. A. Galbraith with a gold badge in recognition of his long service as a member of the executive, and it was decided to make a recommendation to headquarters that a similar badge be issued to Mr Chamberlain. The vice-president for 1047 is Mr. F. Hill, whilst the committee will be Messrs. Galbraith. C. Taylor, A. Thomson. D. E. Duncan, L. Tonkinson. P. Jessep. A. Martin. J McKinnon, and P. J. O'Kane, M.L.C. secretary, Air. W. James.
