OBITUARY

MR. JAMES KILPATRICK Highly respected ‘for his honesty and integrity in business affairs, Mr. James Kilpatrick died at the Cook Hospital on Thursday at the age of 60 years. He was born in County Tyrone, Ireland, and was the elder son of the late John and Clara Kilpatricjt. His father was a shipowner in Ireland. Mr. James Kilpatrick came to New Zealand 40 years ago and settled in Gisborne, where he married Catherine May Gibson. For many years he carried on farming and contracting at Manutuke, and for the last 25 years was farming at Waituhi. He is survived by his wife and three brothers, Mr. Joseph Kilpatrick, Gisborne, and Messrs. G. and S. Kilpatrick, Ireland. A service was held in Cochrane’s chapel on Saturday morning and the funeral left later for the Taruheru cemetery.
