BAN ON NEGRO SINGER EDUCATION BOARD NEW YORK, April 25. In Albany to-day in the New York State Supreme Court, Mr. Justice Beckstein ordered the Albany Board of Education to show cause by May 1 why it should not allow the singer, Paul Robeson, to give a recital in the High School hall on May 9. ' The order was issued on an application for an injunction to restrain the Board of Education from interfering with the scheduled concert. The action of the Albany Board of Education followed the refusal of the Mayor of Peoria. Illinois, to allow Robeson to hold a reception at Peoria Assembly Hall.
