GOODWILL VALUE
SHOP IN GISBORNE 8-MONTH-OLD CONCERN QUERIED BY COMMITTEE The amount of goodwill created by a' business established in Gladstone road for only eight months was the subject of evidence heard by the Gisborne Land Sales Committee last week. The owner applied for £450 and the committeee reduced that amount by £IOO. Consideration covered chattels and fittings valued for the vendor at £298, in addition to goodwill of the lease expiring on September 4. 1947. The lessee was a discharged serviceman. The sale was approved at £650. Two house sales were approved, one in Bank street, Tolaga Bay, on a quar-ter-acre section being passed at £750 and the other in. Ormond road, Gisborne, oh 30 perches at £SOO. Both purchasers were returned servicemen. Fourteen sections were dealt, with. Two of these were at Wainui Beach, one of 28.23 perches and the other 32.4 perches, the approved value being £125.
