NO PAY INCREASE

NEWSPAPER STRIKERS (10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, April 24. The eight-day strike by a section of the members of the Printers’ Operatives Union in newspaper offices ended yesterday. A meeting of strikers agreed to resume work forthwith. The four daily newspapers arc now back to their normal size. In terms of the settlement the strikers agreed that they were not yet entitled to the 7s. basic wage increase lor which they went on strike.
