JEWS RESIST BOARDING

ILLEGAL MIGRANT SHIP SAILORS GRAVELY INJURED (11 a.m.) JERUSALEM, April 23. Jews aboard the illegal immigrant ship which the navy intercepted yesterday strongly resisted a naval boarding party who had to use smoke-bombs and batons. Three sailors are among 12 serious casualties. The ship on which the fighting occurred has been identified as the Galata which has been renamed Snair Yishuv. She is believed to be carrying 600 Jews. An R.A.F. plane first sighted her north-west of Suez on Sunday. It is learned that the three naval casualties are not serious.
