Civic Reception Declined
The ofler of a civic reception in Gisborne on the occasion of his first visit to the town as a Minister of the Crown has been declined by Mr. E. L. Cullen, Minister of Agriculture, who is to spend part of Monday and all day Tuesday in the district. The Mayor, Mr N. 11. Bull who tendered to the Minister a proposal that he should attend a civic reception, has received a reply from Mr. Cullen expressing appreciation of the procered compliment, but stating further that in view of the shortness of his visit and the heavy commitments already made, he would prefer that the civic reception be dispensed with,
