TOKOMARU TENNIS
ENDING OF SEASON (Herald Correspondent.) With the recent heavy rain the tennis season in Tokomaru Bay has come to an end, although the weather precluded any official closing ceremony. A working bee arranged for last Saturday to collect soil for the back lines and for top-circsing the courts was cancelled owing to the weather, but it is hoped that this week-end will allow the job to be done. Most of the club matches were finalised, although some of the handicap doubles were unfinished. Also unfinished was the men’s championship singles, as there still remains the final to be played. In this J. B. Jcfferd meets the title holder, J. Paerata. The men’s handicap singles went to W. K. Williams who also, with W. Baker, won the men’s handicap doubles.
