HOSPITAL CONTROL
REPORTS TO BOARD Tha mcnthjy meeting of the Cook Hospital Board held on Monday, produced a number of discussions in committee which occupied the greater part of the day, the meeting terminating well after 5 p.m. Much of the other business dealt with was of a routine nature, and little of special interest was found in the departmental reports submitted.
The dairy farm report for February snowed receipts of £294, including proceeds of sales of milk £l5O 15s, and butterfat proceeds £l7 13s. Expenditure amounted to £l2B, including £27 in harvesting wages, the statement showing an excess of £lO5 of income over expenses.
Miss W. C. Harvey, acting lady superintendent, reported that Miss J. I. Martin and Sister Richardson were on leave. Reading matter received as gifts from Mesdames M. W. Craig, Campbell, Colin Booth, Lange, and McKenzie. Messrs. Tuess, and O. T. Williams, were acknowledged with thanks.
The medical superintendent, Dr. R. J. B. Hall, reported that the number of patients in hospital had increased from 199 at January 31 to 22!) at February 28. The kilter number included 42 tuberculosis cases and 19 other infectious cases.
The custodian of the memorial home, Mr. F. J. Butler, reported that at the end ot February 11 women and 38 men were inmates of the home. Several anonymous donations of reading matter were' acknowledged with thanks.
