CANADIAN FOURSOMES HOLE-IN-ONE FEAT A large and representative gathering attended the re-opening of the Turanganui Golf Club on the Tuoi links on Saturday afternoon. A Canadian foursomes competition was conducted. N. H. Bull, partnered by Mrs. H. V. Lunken, returned the winning card. Ideal weather prevailed until late in the afternoon when light rain began to fall. At the conclusion of the games, Mr C. H. Hume, captain of the club formally welcomed the visitors on whose beha'lf Messrs J. O. Musgrave and T. A. Tangney of the Poverty Bay and Park clubs, respectively, replied.
The first buttons match of the season was played recently. P. Kaua and R. W. Halbert who are last year's holders, were successful against C. Hume and D. Howell and so retained their position at the top of the ladder.
R. Dolman, who recently holed out in one at the short hole has gained the distinction of being the first this season to accomplish thi s difficult task.
