FARMERS’ GREATEST DISASTER
LIVESTOCK LOSSES £!2,000,000
LONDON, March 23. The National Farmers’ Union believes it will be necessary to have discussions at “Cabinet level” to consider the biggest disaster in the history of British farming, says Reuter. Experts estimate the losses of cattle and sheep alone throughout Britain will he over £12,000,000.
What the highlands lost during the blizzard has been tragically balanced by what the lowlands suffered by the floods.
