The action of the Kiwi social committee in donating portion of the proceeds of a recent dance to the fund for sending the provincial eight-oar crew to Wanganui was acknowledged with warm appreciation at a meeting of the East Coast Rowing Association executive. The R.S.A. committee forwarded a cheque for £lO 10s, as a contribution to the crew’s expenses, and incidentally expressed its thanks for assistance rendered in conducting Ihe dance by several oarsmen of the Poverty Bay and Gisborne clubs. It was reported by Mr. .J. Oxenham, who has been appointed manager of the crew, that luncls now available were still’ inadequate for the journey, but that further donations might bo coining to hand within the next week.
