Yacht Waitangi Resumes Trip

The yacht Waitangi. which put into Gisborne on Sunday evening, sailed at 10.30 a.m. to-day with her sails duly repaired. She experienced a sharp gale on the journey down and found it necessary to put into Hicks Bay on Friday in order to dry the sails. The stop at Gisborne for repairs was therefore the second unscheduled halt in the Waitangi’s trip to Lyttelton from Auckland. Stall Picnic at Morcre On Saturdav the staff of Messrs. Grundy and Scott. Limited, and .their families were the guests of the directors of the company at a picnic held at Morere. Two buses were engaged to take the partv of some 40 adults and children to the resort and the party spent their time between the camping ground and the baths. Catering was provided and there were a number of events to interest the children. It was thought to be a fitting manner to celebrate the seventh anniversary of the taking over by the present company of the wide business connection enjoyed bv Messrs Grundy and Shennan, Limited. The day was voted a highly enjoyable one by the staff.
