DAKOTA CRASH
ELEVATOR LOCKED NEGUGENCE ALLEGED STORY OF EYE-WITNESS (10 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 30. Dutch, Danish and Swedish experts investigating the Dakota crash at Kastrup aerodrome on Sunday, in which Prince Gustav of Sweden and the famous singer, Grace Moore, were among the 22’ persons'-killed, are convinced that the failure to remove an elevator lock before take-off caused the accident, says the times correspondent in Stockholm. The deputy chief inspector of the Swedish Civil Aviation Board, M. Gunnar Larsson, said that the inquiry commission had found a witness who saw the elevator lock in position while the Dakota was a Kastrup. The elevator lock found after the crash proved to be damaged, exactly as would be expected if it had been thrown out when the machine was at a height. The official public inquiry will open on Wednesday.
