ALLEGIANCE CHANGED?
CLAIM BY NANKING SHANGHAI, Jan. 29. Fifteen hundred Chinese, mostly university students, demonstrated accusing the United States of "robbing the Chinese of the fruits of victory over Japan.” The occasion was the anniversary of Japan’s invasion of Manchuria in 1931. The Nanking Government that General Ho Peng-chu and 50,000 troops had deserted the Communist ranks. It added that General Ho had been given command against the Communists in southern Shantung province, where last week he spearheaded their campaign.
