FRENCH DIVORCEE FRIEND OF MUSSOLINI LONDON, Jan. 29. Magda Fontanges, a former friend of Mussolini and described by .the prosecution as “Helene agent, 8608”. was accused of intelligence with the enemy before a military tribunal in Bordeaux to-day says Reuter's correspondent. She was sentenced to 15 years’ hard labour. She met Mussolini when she went to Rome in 1936 as a French newspaper correspondent. After she had divorced her husband her friendship wi.th Mussolini created a diplomatic stir. Fontanges, according to police records, entered the German secret service in 1940. The French authorities arrested her immediately after the liberation of France.
