WELL-FILLED FIELDS • TRACK WILL BE HARD MIDDLE PARK DEFECTIONS .(Herald Special Service.) The Canterbury Jockey Club will hold its mid-summer meeting tomorrow. The fields are all well filled and will include several horses which raced at the recent Wellington meeting. The track promises to be hard. Indian Dawn, Blithe Spirit, Battle Abbey, Helio and Deep Sea have been taken out of the Middle Park Plate, and Zorro, Oronoko and Rival Chase are likely to be reserved for the Lyttelton Plate. The betting will be under the win-and-place system. The following horses are likely to be well supported:— Hornby Highweight Handicap.—Nightchild, Avonbridge, Beau Ideal.
