Polish Children Return

Thirty-six Polish children completed their three weeks’ stay in the Gisborne district yesterday, when they were t'arewelled on the start of their train journey to the Polish camp at Pahiatua. The time they spent in Gisborne was divided between the beaches and the country and it was a pleasure for those assisting the Gisborne Polish Hospitality Committee in the matter of billeting to see the amount of enjoyment the children gained from their visit to the district. The Gisborne committee was grateful to the residents of the town and -country areas for their co-operation.
