TAXATION REDUCTION
AUSTRALIAN PROSPECT
(B 9 a.m.) CANBERRA, Jan. 30. Economic advisers to the Government will start work soon on plans for a substantial tax reduction within the next few months. They believe it cannot be delayed longer than three months because of the revenue buoyancy which is piling up in large sums in the Treasury. Mr. ,1. B. Chiefly, who as well as being Prime Minister, exercises a oneman financial dictatorship in the Labour Party, is scheduled to begin another of his regular scrutinies of taxation.
