King’s.—Reaching a new high in exciting action and baffling mystery. "Sunset Pass," which} concludes to-night at the King’s Theatre, brings to the screen yet another of Zane Grey’s rousing tales of the Old West. Outstanding in his role as Rocky the tough hombre of the west, James Warren surpasses any of his previous per formances, and in doing so,' is given valuable assistance by a strong supporting cast in John Laurenz, Nan Leslie, and Jane Greer. The associate feature, "Dung Dang Williams” is a riotous comedy. Regent.—" The Searching Wind” concludes at the Regent to-day. To-morrow there will be presented a film that is bound to he thoroughly enjoyed by every adult moviegoer. It is the Hal Wallis production of Paramount's "The Strange Love of Martha Ivors,” co-star-ring Barbara Stanwych, Van Heflin and Lizabeth Scott. "The Strange Love of Martha Ivers” tells a gripping tale about cold and heartless people who are motivated by an avaricious lust for money and power, and by uninhibited passions that lead to blackmail and deceit. Martha's childhood murder of her aunt sets the pattern for her sordid life. Majestic.—To-day’s outstanding programme will be headed by the British spy drama, "Night Boat to Dublin,” starring tile prominent English character actor Robert Newton. Briefly the story concerns the sudden disappearance of a Swedish scientist taken to England by the British Government during the war, to work on the much sought after atomic bomb. The associate feature, "Club Havana," stars Tom Neal and Margaret Lindsay. The serial, “Tiger Woman,” opens the sessions at 1.45 and 7.30.

"Watch Your Step” Revue.—Perhaps the most important, and certainly the first 100 per cent variety company headed by Joe Lawman and a. galaxy of other Tivoli Theatre stars to visit New Zealand since the war flew the Tasman recently to open its Dominionwide tour at His Majesty's Theatre, Auckland. Here is celebrity variety in a highclass London music hall success, "Watch Your Step,” produced, presented, danced, sung, acted and clowned at a racy pace The company will appear in the Opera House, Gisborne, on Monday and Tuesday, February 3 and 4. The box plans are open at Tattorsail and Bayly's. New Zealand Concert Party.—Youth and enthusiasm are the qualities which have impressed audiences during the tour o£ three young musicians who will shortly visit Gisborne. Itenais Gage, Raymond Windsor and Wilfred Simenauer. Their organiser, Robert Jenson, has said of them: "The basic idea of the tour is to demonstrate that New Zealand can produce musicians of a calibre comparable with any from overseas. This trio of performers, none of them more than LS years old, is equal to the best heard in the Dominion. The party will appear at the Opera House on February 5.
