The British Petroleum Co. of N.Z., Ltd., was registered in Wellington on December 19 at a private company. Capital is £2.500,000 in shares of £i each, and the subscribers are H.M. the King 1,275,000 shares and ‘the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company, Limited, London, 1.225,000 shares. The objects are to buy, import, sell, etc., and generally deal in petroleum, its derivatives, products, etc., and incidental. The registration relates to the company arising from the agreement between the Government and the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company under which a subsidiary company woo'd be formed in New Zealand, with the Government holding a controlling interest of 51 per rent of the shares.
