Charter Aircraft
Chartered by three Gisborne business men, a Vega Gull aircraft belonging to the Wellington Aero Club, arrived at Gisborne last evening from Wellington. Piloted by Mr I. J. Rawnsiey, chief instructor to the southern club, the machine left early this morning with the three passengers for Welington. Town Fires Clothing left in front of the copper fire and catching alight was the reason tor a call to the Gisborne Fire Brigade at 4.10 p.m. on Monday. A fire had been lit under the copper in the wash-house at the residence of Mrs. Hill, 179 Roebuck road, and the flames caught fire to clothing piled in front of Hie copper On the brigade’s arrival, the fire was found to be under control, little damage being done. A. call at 11.25 a m yesterday from residents of Kaiti Beach resulted in the brigade turning out in an effort to save two tents, occupied by three young men, pitched on the beach frontage. One tent with its contents was completely gutted, but neighbours saved the other tent and .its contents-
