SHEFFIELD SHIELD PLAY MILLER’S 206 NOT OUT (9 a.m.) SYDNEY. Jan. 29. Dismissing New South Wales for 189 runs in the second innings, Victoria clinched its hold on the Sheffield Shield yesterday afternoon by defeating New South Wales. Tribe’s bowling completely dominated the play and Lindwall was the only batsman who appeared at all comfortable. In the Victorian second innings yesterday, K, Miller batted brilliantly and was unbeaten with 206. M. Harvey made 30. I. Johnson 82, N. Harvey 49 and K, Meuleman 72 not out. Victoria declared with 450 for three wickets. Victoria’s first innings had produced 356 runs, to which New South Wales replied with 329. In their second innings the New South Wales players scored 189 (Lindwall 62; Tribe five for 71 and Johnson three for 37).
