Anniversary Days

Anniversary Day, marking the 107th anniversary of the establishment of British rule in New Zealand, will be observed as a holiday in the Auckland Province to-morrow. Although each province in New Zealand has its Anniversary Day. they are not observed throughout the Dominion on the one clay. The following are the dates of observance in the various provinces:— Hawke’s Bay and Marlborough, November 1: Westland, December 1; Canterbury, December 16: Wellington, January 22; Auckland, January 29: Nelson. February 1: Otago (including Southland). March 23; Taranaki, March 31. The holiday was observed in Gisborne yesterday.
