RACES AND TROTS SUMMER CARNIVALS The holiday racing carnival season commenced to-day, when the Manawatu Racing Club opened its Christmas race meeting on the Av.anuni course. Other race meetings 'arc being held at Pacrca and Oamaru, while the New Brighton Trotting Club’s summer meeting opened" at Addington. The second trotting meeting in New Zealand to-day is at Claudela-cb where the Waikato Trotting Club also opened its summer season.
