MATAWHERO SALE STORE SPRING LAMBS WOOLLY 21/4; SHORN 20/9 Spring lambs made their first appearance in any numbers to-day at the Matawhero ’ stock sale and, although they were sold as stores they made the equivalent of fat values. Wcolly lambs realised 21s 4d and the better oualby shorn wether lambs sold, at 20s 9d. Other values were fully firm in the store and tat pens. Although bidding appeared to be lifeless on the fat sheep market, there was no decline on recent rates. Wellconditioned ewes changed hands at up to 21s 6d with a choice line of 2-ths being knocked down at 255. There was a good entry o pig-, nuance again the market held. Heavy porkers ranged from £3 13s to £3 17s. light porkers up to £2 10s, and weaners from 20s to 28s. Prices:— Fat Sheep Ewes. —Forty-one, well conditioned, 20s; 17, good frames ip) 18s; 6. smaller. 17s lid; 20, on account of Mr. Frank Mills, 21s; 6. 18s 4d; 11. on account of Mr. Guthrie Smith. Motu, 19s; 19. fat and forward, 21s 6d; 13. 2-ths, good condition 255. Wethers.—Six (p) 23s 3d. Store Sheep Lambs. —One hundred and fortythree wethers, woolly, on account of Mr. R. D. Dymock, Te Karaka, 21s 4d; 145, good order, wethers, shorn, on account of Mr G. C. Bruere, Ormond, 20s 9d; 77 ewes, some small, shorn, on account of Mr. D. C. S. Main, Hangaroa (p) 11s 6d; 46, wethers, shorn, same vendor, 12s. Shorn Ewes.—Thirty-seven, 2-ths, forward condition, 245; 41, 4-th, mostly maiden to) 20s 6d. Shorn Wethers.—Eighty, light conditioned. 22s 4d; 55, 2 and 4-th, on account Smith estate, Whakarau, 24s 8d; 42. on account of Guthrie-Smith, Mo.tu, 24s 4d; 94, 4 and 6-th, with size and condition, 27s 9d; 47, good condition, 28s; 78, 2-th, on account of GuthrieSmith <p) 22s 3d; 56, 4-th, with size and condition. 28s 7d.
