ADDITIONAL LEAVE
SERVICE IN AIR FORCE (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 7. The recently announced decision .to make the present services overseas leave provisions retrospective to December 3. 1939 makes it necessary for personnel who served in the R.N.Z.A.F. to apply before January 15 next, states the Air Department.' Those who qualify for additional leave will receive pay for it, including dependants’ allowance, at the rate applicable on October 15 of this year. This adjustment will apply to those who returned from overseas service and began their leave before April 19. 1946, and certain personnel who were granted leave on a sliding scale. Air Department points out that payment will not be made before June, 1947. No payment accrues under these provisions respecting a serviceman who died during the currency of his service. An adjustment will be made in respect of leave actually received and leave earned during the period under review, but deferred and rehabilitation leave will be granted at the 28 days’ scale.
