King’s.—Starring John Hodiak, and introducing as his co-star, lovely Nancy Guild, who is being hailed at a screen discovery, “Somewhere In The Night,’’ 20th Century-Fox’s new romantic thriller is being screened at the King's Theatre. The romance and excitementpacked film tells the gripping story of an exmarine, plagued by amnesia—afraid to love, afraid even to search out his past; haunted by the memory of an unfinished kiss and of a forgotten shame. Filled with ‘ suspense and thrilling drama, the film is said to present the boldest probing of human emotions ever attempted on the screen. Regent.—" Affairs of Susan” concludes today at the Regent. You can do without many things but can you do "Without Love?" That is the theme—and a howlarious one it is—of the M.G.M. attraction ‘‘Without Loce,” which is commencing to-morrow, co-starring Spencer Tracey and Katharine Hepburn. Take a scientist-inventor who much prefers to read a good book than to talk to any woman, and a beautiful girl who wants no more love in her life; add a new high-altitude’ oxygen mask for fliers which the inventor has been assigned to perfect by the Government —and you have the plot. Majestic —To-day’s programme from Warner Bros, is headed by the outstanding western production “Bad Men of Missouri,” starring Dennis Morgan, Wayne Morris and Arthur Kennedy . as the famous Younger Bros. Robin Hoods of the range who clashed with Jesse James. The associate comedy, "Make Your Own Bed,” stars Jack Carson, Irene Manning nod Jane Wyman. Opera House.—ln aid of the Hine Materoa Children’s Home, Maureen Keany's revue. "Xmas Frolics,” will be presented at the Opera House’ to-morrow at 8 o'clock. Over 100 artists, juvenile and adult, provide a joyous blend of dancing, music, mirth, novelty, spectacular ballets, and dance ensembles. Outstanding specialty acts include "The Floritas,” in perhaps the greatest showing of acrobatic art even shown in Gisborne, "Pharos,” a modern master magician, the Savage Club party, Mrs. B. Akers, the Coleman trio, Tom Lyell and Will B. Keany as the comical "Dame.” Tickets and reserves are available at Arthur Toye, Limited.
