King’s Theatre.—The amusing and sometimes emotional impact of the west upon the primitive reasoning, habits and culture of Siam forms the exciting theme of “Anna and the King of Siam,” the film now showing at the King’s Theatre. Rex Harrison, the tail, debonair Englishman who so closely resembles royalty in his own country, gives a magnicent performance, as the lusty, eccentric King of Siam. The west is exquisitely represented by Irene Dunne, who has accepted the role of teacher to the King’s children. Regent.—" The Last Chance” concludes today at the Regent. To-morrow’s new programme is Paramount’s sprightly and romantic comedy, "The AlfairS of Susan," starring Joan Fontaine, Dennis O’Keefe, George Brent and Walter Abel. This film is calculated to appeal to all those patrons who appreciate diverting entertainment with the emphasis on comedy. Its amusing situations, delightful dialogue and zest is most refreshing. "The Allah's of Susan” has had extended seasons in all of the main centres, which gives an indication as to its popularity. Majestic.—Today’s programme will be headed by a show that really has everything, "On Stage Everybody.” with Peggy Ryan, Jack Oakie and Johnny Coy, and a big cast of dancers, singers and comedians. The associate feature, “Crime Incorporated,” is a most feature, “Crime Inucorporated,” is a most realistic gangster picture. It stars Leo Carrillo, Tom Neal and Martha Tilton. Opera House.—Maureen i-eany’s revue, “Xmas Frolics,” in aid of the Hine Materoa Children’s Home, will be presented at the Opera House on Tuesday, December 10. Aided by colourful costumes, settings and lighting effects, 100 adult and juvenile performers will be seen in a joyous blend of dancing, music and comedy. In addition, there will be specialty acts by visiting guest artists, "The Floritas” in three new acrobatic acts. "Pharos,” the master magician, the Savage Club party, the Coleman trio, Tom Lyle and his violin. Mrs. B. Akers, and Will B. Keancy. Tickets and reserves are now available at Arthur Toye, Limited.
