LEFT WING OFFICERS 21 SENT TO ISLANDS (10 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 22. The “transfers" of five former E.L.A.S. generals were put into effect yesterday, reports the Associated Press correspondent in Athens. The generals, led bv the former commander-in-chief, Stephen Serafis, accompanied by 20 other E.L.A.S. officers, embarked for a passage to the islands. The Ministry of Defence earlier announced that tlie officers were being transferred. The E.A.M. claimed tire transfers were, in effect, deportations which was part of .the purge of Left Wingers.

The Athens newspapers reported that the officers were escorted to the ship. It is understood similar arrangements are being made for certain naval personnel.
