DEMANDS IN BOMBAY

RACING CLUB EXCLUSION FOREIGN PARTICIPATION (10 a.m.) LONDON, July 21. Thu exclusion of English end foreign jockeys and horses and an increase in the license fee by 700 per cent are among the conditions that the Congress Government of Bombay is attaching to a renewal of the lisense of the lioyal Western Indian Turf Club, says Reuter’s correspondent in Bombay. The situation a present has resulted in a deadlock. The Government asks for a fee of £150,000, insists on the progressive hut rapid abolition of the running of English, Arab and other foreign horses, the exclusion of all foreign jockeys, and the inclusion of Government appointees to club’s stewards and committee. The Government says it wishes to encourage the Indian blookstock industry, to secure a share of the profits from racing, and to discourage gambling by compelling the club to reduce stake money.
