BRITAIN’S LATEST NEW USE FOR RADAR BLIND-FIRING TURRET GO a.m.) MELBOURNE, April 15. Carrying some of Britain’s latest and most secret armament and equipment, the Lancaster aircraft Thor has reached Melbourne. The visit is to demonstrate to the Empire air forces the latest in British scientific bomber aids. The. plane will probably leave Melbourne on April 17 for New Zealand, returning here early in May. The innovations include a radaroperated blind-flying tail turret, which directs fire on invisible attacking aircraft, and another device which, in complete darkness, throws on a screer a picture of the ground below.
