NEW ZEALAND’S PART DRAFTING OF AGREEMENT (P.A.) WELLINGTON, April 5. The Minister of Defence, Mr. F. Jones, referring to the work of the Provisional International Civil Aviation Organisation, commonly known as PICAO, said that the New Zealand air liaison officer in Ottawa, Group Captain T. W. White, was taking a special interest in the work of the committees of this organisation. Group Captain White was spending a considerable portion of his time at the Montreal interim headquarters of the provisional organisation, and was taking a direct and active interest in its w ork. He had taken part in the work of the air transport committee, which was engaged in tire preparation of a draft of the agreement on international air transport. - The Minister said that at the Chicago conference in November and December, 19-14, no general agreement, on air transport was reached, and it was hoped that the work of Ibis committee, which was of particular importance to New Zealand as well as to other countries interested in the operation of international air services, would prove successful. New Zealand was not represented on the council of the Provisional International Civil Aviation Organisation, but Australia, whose election to membership New Zealand had supported, had agreed that her representative would watch the interests of New Zealand and would submit for consideration any views which New Zealand might wish to convey to the council.
